Today's Gospel is another telling of the story of Jesus' calling of the first disciples. The invitation of Jesus - to see how he lives, and then to share what we see and learn with others - is the same invitation he offers us.
We are invited to reflect on this invitation: do I take Jesus' invitation seriously? Do I know, and do I believe, what he teaches? Do I live his teachings? Do I invite others to know Jesus in my words, and more importantly, in my actions?
The is discipleship: to continue what Jesus lived and taught; to continue the mission; to be Christ in the world, and to invite others to join in the mission.
El evangelio de hoy es otro relato de la historia del llamado de Jesús a los primeros discípulos. La invitación de Jesús, a ver cómo vive y luego a compartir lo que vemos y aprendemos con los demás, es la misma invitación que nos ofrece.
Estamos invitados a reflexionar sobre esta invitación: ¿tomo en serio la invitación de Jesús? ¿Sé, y creo, lo que enseña? ¿Vivo sus enseñanzas? ¿Invito a otros a conocer a Jesús en mis palabras y, lo que es más importante, en mis acciones?
El es el discipulado: continuar lo que Jesús vivió y enseñó; continuar la misión; ser Cristo en el mundo e invitar a otros a unirse a la misión.
