God: "See, I am now establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that was with you [in the ark].
"This is the sign that I am giving you for all ages to come: I set my bow in the clouds to serve as a sign [a reminder] of the covenant between me, and you, and the earth" (Genesis 9:8-15).
When the people could no longer see the signs, and could no longer feel the presence of God, Jesus came to establish the new, and the final covenant. "The Spirit drove Jesus into the desert, and he remained in the desert for forty days."
Forty days: the days that Noah spent in the ark in the time of the flood, and the days Jesus spent in the desert.
Jesus: "This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand.
"Repent, and believe in the gospel" (Mark 1:12-15).
Believe in the Good News he brings. You are loved. You are forgiven.
