2nd Sunday of Easter | Segundo Domingo de Pascua

All this week, we've heard the stories of Jesus appearing to his disciples after his resurrection. Jesus' last appearance comes at the sea of Tiberius, when he gives the command to Peter (and to us), "Feed my sheep." In other words, "now you go and do it."

Howard Thurman was a theologian, and an inspiration to Martin Luther King and his non-violent ethic. Thurman is quoted as saying, "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

We Sisters spend an awful lot of time, together and alone, asking: "What does the world need?" Maybe we've been asking the wrong question, if we can believe Thurman. What, as religious Sisters, makes us come alive? What makes me come alive? I would bet that the most common response would be, "my love for God." Maybe we just need to go out and love. Maybe we all just need to go out and love, as God loves.

¿Qué me hace cobrar vida?
